I grew up in Portland, and live in South Portland. I started practicing Yoga when I was training for a triathlon. Chronically pulling a rib out of alignment during training, a chiropractor told me I could do more for myself than he could do said "go do yoga". Thus began a new journey. I started out predominantly practicing vinyasa and gradually shifted to focus more on the quieter, but not necessarily easier, practice of Yin Yoga. “Yin Yoga balances the Yang in my life, of which there is plenty!”. my biggest take away from my yoga practice is that yoga creates breathing room. Room to pause before I react and room to recover when I do react to life’s challenges. Yin brings balance into my life helping me maintain that breathing room.
