Owner of Scarborough Yoga, E-RYT 500, YACEP Professional Life Coach Master Reiki Practitioner, Usui Lineage Hi, I’m Andrea — founder of Scarborough Yoga, lifelong student, teacher, and retreat leader. My love for yoga began in 2011 while I was training for a triathlon. After repeatedly pulling a rib out of alignment, a chiropractor offered advice that changed my path: “You can do more for yourself than I can do for you. Go do yoga.” Once I started practicing, I knew I wanted to learn more. I completed my 200-hour teacher training with Jacqui Bonwell in 2012–2013 and opened Scarborough Yoga in September 2014. Since then, I’ve continued to study and grow through a 300-hour teacher training, yin trainings with Josh Summers, meditation and pranayama with Shiva Shakti, restorative yoga with Robin Ivy Payton, sequencing with Amy Ippoliti, and other trainings that continue to shape the way I teach. From the beginning, my dream for Scarborough Yoga was that it would be more than a place to practice — it would be a community. More than a decade later, through growth, change, and even a pandemic, that dream has become real. I love teaching, learning, and sharing practices that help people slow down, reconnect, and feel at home in themselves. My teaching leans toward quieter, grounding practices, especially yin yoga. Retreats have become one of my favorite ways to share yoga because they bring together the things I love most: mindful movement, rest, culture, adventure, and meaningful connection. I look forward to meeting you on your mat, wherever you are. |
