FAQ's
It’s my first time to Yoga. What do I do?
Welcome! Try to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of class in order to fill out the new student waiver.   You will need to wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in.  Bring a mat if you have one, towel and water to drink.  We have mats available for your use if needed. Bring a smile!
Do I need my own mat?
You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own mat to class.  If you don't have a mat, we have plenty, as well as other props (blocks, blankets & straps) available for your use.
What do I wear to class?
Comfortable clothes that allow you to move and stretch easily. Stay away from anything too baggy, as you could find yourself upside down at some point (downward facing dog or a forward fold). Shoes and socks are not worn in class. Don't worry, there is no standard yoga attire.
Do I need to pre-register for class?
We use MindBody which allows you to pre-register on line.  You are welcome to drop in to any class.  We request that you PREREGISTER for Workshops & Trainings as they either a minimum number of attendees to run or a maximum number of attendees to accommodate the workshop offerings.
What is your refund / exchange policy
Classes:  If you have pre-registered, we do not charge for late cancels.

Passes:  Do not expire and are non-refundable.

Workshops:  With 48 hrs notice are refundable.  Less than 48 hours you will receive credit for future use at Scarborough Yoga.   (Workshops & Trainings are refundable on a case by case basis for major life events or health reasons at the discretion of Scarborough Yoga.)
what is the difference between a class and a workhop?
Classes are held on a regular basis every week / month. You may drop-in to any class.  Advance registration is not required. Series run in finite sessions and enrollment must be for an entire series.  Workshops  are a single event.   Advance registration is required, and maximum capacity is defined.   Workshops generally focus on more specific themes.
at what age can I come to yoga?
Yogis of all ages are encouraged to attend class at Yoga Works. Minors must have a signed parent/guardian release waiver on file to take class unaccompanied. Children under 12 may not take regular yoga classes without a parent or guardian present.
how do I purchase a gift certificate
Gift Certificates can be purchased in any denomination - please call or stop by the studio or select Gift Certificate using MInd Body.
What is the difference between class packages and unlimited membership?
A class package allows for you to attend a fixed number of classes and does not expire. Unlimited packages allow for you to take as many classes as desired within a specific time-frame, generally 1 month. We offer a new students a one time only deal of $50 Unlimited Yoga Classes as an introduction to the studio.

The studio opens 15 – 20 minutes before each class begins and closes 15-30 minutes after each class ends. Please see the schedule page for specific class times.
