Meet Joan Quinn

she/her/hers)

Joan believes yoga doesn't have to be serious to be meaningful. In fact, she has found that the less seriously she takes herself, the deeper the practice becomes. Since beginning yoga in 2008 and completing her teacher training in 2026 with Kristine Keegan at Scarborough Yoga, she has returned to the mat again and again for the opportunity to move, breathe, pay attention, and discover something new.
A longtime mindfulness practitioner, Joan views yoga as a form of moving meditation—a chance to cultivate awareness through the body. She also enjoys facilitating mindfulness practices, including vocal toning, walking meditation, sitting meditation, and loving-kindness meditation. These practices deeply influence her teaching style.
Her classes blend energizing vinyasa flow with moments of mindfulness, laughter, and community. Joan loves creating practices that build strength, confidence, and vitality while also encouraging students to slow down, tune in, and meet themselves with curiosity, compassion, and a sense of humor.
When not practicing yoga, you can find Joan making art, being a bookworm, and playing with her dog Joy.
